About Core Pages

The Home Savvy eMagazine system offers two types of editable pages. One type are Personal Pages, and the other type are Core Pages. Though both types are editable, Core Pages are actually a default part of the HSM content system whereas Personal Pages are essentially "blank" pages that you can use for any purpose. You can tell a Core Page using two indicators:

  • Core Pages use "natural" page-file names such as handshake.php, aboutsubaccounts.php, etc.
  • Core Pages contain content that is editable and customizable by you. In other words, each Core Page is designed with a specific purpose in mind and should be used for a specific reason in the HSM system.

The purpose of a Core Pages is simply to provide you with pre-formatted content that you can use to enhance the impact or usefulness of your Home Savvy eZine. As a Core Page, this pre-formatted content is added to your HSM account and can be accessed through your account ADMIN in the Message Center. Conversely, a Personal Page is a blank page that sits in your account, but you are fully responsible for adding content to it. And though we may provide that content [for Personal Pages] to you in the form of page templates, you decide whether or not you want to use it whereas Core Pages are installed into your account by default. Even so, you use the Core pages you want when you want. You can even edit them the way you want as long as your edits do not conflict with company rules or state and federal laws.

Descriptions of Core Pages

The HSM system currently contains seven Core Pages. They are as follows:

  1. Bio (bio.php) - You corporate or personal biography goes here. Allows consumers to learn the most information about your and your company quickly and conveniently.

  3. News (news.php) - Add your corporate or industry news here. You can also use this page as a blog.

Use this page as a "start pages" and link it to one of your Super-Buttons (one of five prominent buttons that appears on the left side of every page in your HSM account).
  7. Editorial Notes (editorialnotes.php) - Use this page to keep track of your editorial notes related to the development of your HSM Personal Pages. You can also use this page to keep track of Handshake ad sales. Essentially, this page is just a digital "scratch sheet".

Using Core Pages

Though we provide you with Core Pages, using them is purely optional. And, though using them is optional, we highly recomment that you use them (Otherwise, we wouldn't have developed them for you to use!). Of the seven Core Pages we provide, we especially recommend that you these three; Bio, Handshake, and News.

Your Bio page provides your HSM readers with a fast and convenient way to learn more about your company. This is useful whenever we publish articles and editorials that can (and often does) motivate consumers to inquire on products and services mentioned in our articles and editorials. For example, if we mention the important of getting a home maintenance inspection an article, and you are a home inspector, it would be wise to provide readers with instant access to your content info via the Bio page.

Your Handshake page provides you with a means of generating extra income via your HSM account. As an "online magazine", your HSM account is perfectly-suited to help local businesses to reach a common target market; homeowners, home buyes, home sellers, real estate professionals, and real estate investors. Because your market is pre-filtered and extremely targeted, local businesses that serve your market will find that advertising in your HSM issues may be extremely beneficial to them. More importantly, you can earn thousands of extra dollars per year by simply offering your HSM issues as an advertising platform that presents a real and useful alternative to broad-market advertising platforms like magazines and local TV ads.

Your News page allows you communicate with your target market more effectively. Posting news (or blogs) on a regular basis not only shows your readers and customers that you are a growing and dynamic company, it also contributes to good SEO (Search Engine Optimization) practices.
